The celebration of Christmas came to the shores of Virginia just 400 years ago in the imaginations and traditions of the brave souls traveling from Europe on wooden ships to begin a new life here.

While making merry on this most Holy occasion was frowned upon in the rigid religious climate of New England, the new citizens of Virginia welcomed the event with laughter, faith and festive exuberance!
